Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
Cogeneration, also known as Combined heat and power (CHP), is a highly efficient process that generates electrical energy and useful heat simultaneously. By using waste heat, which is recovered from the engine jacket water and exhaust gas, the overall efficiency of CHP systems can exceed 80%. The heat, a byproduct of electrical generation, can be used for heating, cooling or generating steam. With its practical use, it makes CHP one of the most energy-efficient methods of power generation.
